I have over twenty years of experience working with middle school students, teenagers and young adults , helping them to cope with challenges that include negotiating peer relationships, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning issues, depression and anxiety, trauma and adjustment issues. I also assist parents in better supporting their children, reducing conflict and improving relationships within the family.
Having spent much of my career working with children and adolescents who experience learning, behavioral and emotional challenges, I am in a position to quickly assess a child's needs and together, with the parent, to determine the optimal means of intervention. In most cases, the challenges of a child or adolescent impact on the whole family so I also offer parent training , assessments and consultations as well.
In addition to my private work, I have extensive experience providing clinical services for students requiring out of district special education placements. I have also worked with staff and students at residential placements, directed a fully integrated inclusion program for campers with social and behavioral challenges, and provided mental health support for camp staff, ranging in age from 18-30.
