My Approach

Why therapy?

Research has shown that success in therapy is not correlated to a particular therapeutic approach. Rather, it is based on the quality of the client-therapist relationship. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a non-judgemental, warm supportive relationship. Together, we will explore why you have chosen to come to therapy at this time and we will find the approach that best meets your needs. You will gain the insight to break dysfunctional patterns of behavior, the ability to regulate your emotions and to cope with stressful situations. I will enable you to see your strengths and make choices that will lead to a more satisfying life.

Modalities and Treatment Approaches

I work with individuals, couples, families and groups.   Clients from all ages connect with me easily,  including hard to reach teenagers and young adults in transition.

Treatment approach is mutually determined by client and therapist, based on the client's needs and goals.  Techniques used include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy,  solution focused short-term therapy and positive psychology.  Mindfulness and meditation can also be incorporated into any of these approaches.
